REGULATION AMENDED ON NOTICE AND RECORDKEEPING FOR DIGITAL
TRANSMISSION OF SOUND RECORDINGS UNDER STATUTORY LICENSE (64 FR
49671)
The Copyright Office is amending the regulation that requires the
filing of an initial notice of digital transmissions of sound
recordings under statutory license with the Copyright Office. As
amended, the regulation states that a suggested format for the Initial
Notice will be posted on the Office's Website. The change is an
effort to ensure that Initial Notices filed with the Office fully
comply with the regulation. The suggested format may be viewed at
www.copyright.gov/licensing/ Services eligible for the
statutory license who must file an Initial Notice are encouraged to
use the suggested format by printing it out from the Office's Website,
filling in the blanks, and submitting it to the Licensing Division of
the Copyright Office with the applicable $20 fee.
