Copyright Office Seeks Comment on Sections
111, 119, and 122
Pursuant to Section 109 of the Satellite Home Viewer Extension and Reauthorization
Act of 2004 (Pub. L. No. 108-447), the Copyright Office is seeking
comment on issues related to the operation of, and continued necessity
for, Sections 111, 119, and 122 of the Copyright Act. The Office seeks specific
comment on legal and factual matters associated with the retention,
reform, or elimination of the cable and satellite statutory licenses. Section
109 requires the Copyright Office to recommend any necessary legislative
changes no later than June 30, 2008. Comments are due by July 2, 2007. Reply
comments are due by September 13, 2007. (Read further
